If you want an even paint surface, don’t look at what I’m doing. You’d probably be better off with a more conventional paint application. I generally tolerate a very uneven paint surface while working, but when the painting is finished I varnish them to even everything out.

The painting I tried it on once remained shiny in the background where I hadn’t applied a 2nd layer of paint, resulting in an uneven surface. Your painting was beautiful. thanks.

    Great video – thanks!!

It seems like you first get general color/shade and most importantly direction of the strokes right (while staying anatomically correct), and then you add light/dark different intensities of color on top? And then “correct’/adjust with the background color to get the shapes back?

I’m OK with animal fur, but skin and especially skin color still is my enemy..
*sigh* I’ve still got so far to go and so much to learn – I wish I was there yet. It’s really fun, but hard too!
