8×5 Oil Painting GARY GARRETT DEMO – - Channel marker at Little Jetties
In Mid October, the First Coast Plein Air Painters had our paintout at the Little Jetties (Mayport Florida) where the St. Johns River meets the Intracoastal Waterway, just west of the Mayport Naval Station. It ws beautiful! The wiregrass was in full pink/burgundy blooms. I painted a12x16 acrylic there and shot 100+ photos.
This 8×5 inch oil fine-grained canvas panel painting is from one of those photos looking west. My palette is WHITE-CAD YELLOW LIGHT & MEDIUM – CAD RED – CRIMSON – ULTRAMARINE BLUE -PAYNE’S GREY & WHITE. My medium is DRYING LINSEED OIL & LIQUIN IMPASTO gel. All paints & mediums are Winsor & Newton. The undercoat is painted with brushes and papertowels, the color coat is painted with a small palette knife.
Thank you for watching

Thank you for the nice comment.. Everyone should sign & date one’s work on the front, or on the back, as, should it become collectible in the future, it would be verification of who did it and when. We do not know what will be the rage 100 years from now.
THANK YOU for watching and taking the time to leave a comment

Hi… couple of …
Hi… couple of reasons for signing at that time: 1) wasn;t sure how much room my sig would take on this small canvas… and I keep looking at it, changing it until I like it.
I don;t sign preemy often, but NEVER think that just because you;ve signed it, you can’t change it until you are totally satisfied. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.

Thanks Ramona.. Had a 116-year-old tree fall on our house in June. I didn’t stop painting, but there was very little time to set up a camera as well. I was able to upload this video only as a PSP MP4… little grainy, but very small file size… uploaded in 15 minutes. Thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment
