Do you like and appreciate modern art ? Why ?

I absolutely do not understand explicit and indirect meaning conveyed by it and wonder why people buy those paintings at such a exorbitant cost. As against I like simple and sweet painting e.g. like paintings of Indian artist Raja Ravivarma. What is your opinion ?

i accept ,,,,,,,,,,i hate modern art ,,,especially Picasso paintings ,,,,[pure b.s]

it doesn’t has the class of paintings of Thomas Gainsborough or raja Ravi verma,,,,

i consider raja Ravi verma’s paintings to be far better than all of painters from the west ,,,

i simply cant understand how a painter from kerala can beat the world ,,in art,,,,

Yes, because it’s more understandable than the classic art.

i absolutely complete relish any modern art. it just a sort of conglomerate of what has already been created. we need to reach into the future and start creating more authentic pieces. its like the clone who made a clone but just found out in the end that he was a clone of himself from 300 years in the past.

what i’m trying to say is that if we are to grow as artists we need to bring out the fire from within. not necessarily the bad fires withing but just the fire. the raw unpredictable talent and game that comes forth when you are completely caught up in the moment. entranced in the temporal soup that is your consciousness.

i also must complain that today no one can truly undestand others anymore. how do you know what make you different if you can’t even understand jim, or bill. ya get what i’m trying to say here? its like we need to stop and look around us. stop and try to understand and get into the shoes of the non artist, that is everyone other than the artist.

To me art is both an expression of yourself and a reflection of yourself withing the structures of the whole though/idea web/conciousness "internet" if you will. if are to grow you need to love the brother man and the other man, i feel its very important to do that…

basically what i’m trying to say is: you got 5 dollars on you i can borrow?

I love contemporary art (modern art’s okay too) cuz it’s full of surprises and never seizes to amaze me and I like the idea it’s done by living artists, preferable commenting on the society I live in. I don’t care about the money issue. I guess you want figurative/realistic art and dislike anything abstract? well I could say for realism I just have to look around in real life, but for exciting art you need artists doing extraordinary things that are puzzling but sooooooooooooooo interesting.

Modern Art galleries aren’t like other galleries. In a normal gallery you would look at a painting and see exactly what the artist has shown, a nice bowl of fruit. That is how a lot of people view art.

But with modern art you have to look deeper. Most modern art follows the same basic abstract principle, which is that when viewed as piece of art it will mean different things to different people. You have to look much deeper, almost within side of yourself, to feel, rather than to see the piece of art.

To me, it seems to say so much more than a pretty picture. It takes a great deal of emotional feeling to become a truly successful modern artist.

It’s also exciting. It’s constantly evolving and changing. You never know what to expect when going in to a gallery or show – whereas with art you can have a general idea.
