Art???????????????????????????

I need some ideas :)

K so I’ve sold some of my art before except it was more like "If you draw this for me by March 6th I’ll give you $80" (Example).
But I want to sell more art. I want to draw something and put it in a gallery or an art sale, maybe even have my own website and sell things there. So I need lots and lots of ideas for drawing..For example: what kind of peice of art would you buy to put in your living room? Things that people would like and actually buy. If I have more info I’ll post it, but for now all I need is LOTS AND LOTS of ideas :) Oh and not just drawing, like all sorts of art, painting, water colours, etc. I’m just out of ideas :)

Thanks in advance! :)

    Part One Answer:

    ~You say you want to put your art in a gallery. There are several different kind of galleries you could submit your art to. While local art galleries may give you the accomplished feeling of being a true to life artist, I have found that getting your work into one is often times a very difficult battle unless you are DiVinci himself.
    Online galleries, on the other hand, are much easier to maintain both showcasing your art and selling it. A popular online art site is deviantart.com. While there is a lot of unprofessional and sloppy child-like art work on here, there is an equal amount of true and amazing artists here as well. For a certain monthly or yearly fee you have the option to sell your art on here. I personally do not sell, and cannot give you an idea of how well this process works. My assumption would be that you must have a great level of talent in order to get the sales you want.
    If an online gallery does not suite you, and if you have enough money to accomplish your wants, you could rent a booth at a local art show. I live in Florida, and we have many, many art shows all year round, but I cannot say whether or not other states promote art in the way we do. Renting a booth is probably a good way to start out so that you may get an idea of how popular your art is with the general public.

    Part Two

    ~There is no such thing as "one picture" that EVERYONE has in their home. All different people love all different art. I have a huge canvas painting of some mythical creatures beneath a rainbow and a bright sky hanging in my living room and I, but my father hates it. My father, on the other hand, has a print of a modern art collage which to me, looks like someone just swallowed a couple different tubes of paint and then vomited on the board. The point is, everyone has different tastes in their art, and when you go to an art show you will see this. There are hardly ever two vendors with the same kind of art.

    ~~~What ever you decide to do, always remember: PRACTICE makes perfect. Always practice. Good luck to you!
