Art???????????????????????????

I need some ideas :)

K so I’ve sold some of my art before except it was more like "If you draw this for me by March 6th I’ll give you $80" (Example).
But I want to sell more art. I want to draw something and put it in a gallery or an art sale, maybe even have my own website and sell things there. So I need lots and lots of ideas for drawing..For example: what kind of peice of art would you buy to put in your living room? Things that people would like and actually buy. If I have more info I’ll post it, but for now all I need is LOTS AND LOTS of ideas :) Oh and not just drawing, like all sorts of art, painting, water colours, etc. I’m just out of ideas :)

Thanks in advance! :)

A live painting performance- Art Just in Time #2

On December 5, 2009, Victor Beltran, Peruvian modern artist created 4 original artworks, while at the Art Gallery of Chistine Frechard. Beltran demonstrated his unique ability to conceptualize artistic images of vibrant colors and abstract shapes while gallery guests gazed on. Beltran could be seen from the street by persons who saw Beltran through the large front window where he was working inside. The audience gazed as Beltrans paintings emerged from the blank canvas, stroke by stroke, there was an evolution of new born works of modern art. Beltran is known for his meditative art that emerges as his creativity spontaneously reveals itself though his brushes and paints.

what art sales the best?

what kind of art would people want to by the most? hand made canvas, printed? and what style? abstract, murals, urban style, graffiti style, mixed combinations of funny stuff like buttons or keys stick-ed to the canvases or what?

please post many many opinion, and maybe thanks examples too. thanks in advance for your answer.

The art field is such a huge market. It depends on the taste of the person. Some people love oil paintings, others hate them. The good thing about being an artist, is no matter what you do, as long as its good, someone out there will like it.

The arts have a lot to do with aesthetics. The art has to appeal to the psyche of the person and a lot of art is based on taste. Do what you want as an artist, not what you think someone or the market would want. You need to do what you love first. Then focus on the business end.

Both are important. Its important to satisfy yourself as an artist, while still keeping the business end into perspective.

who are some contemporary artists that focus on the body?

post 1980.
or just a piece of artwork that focuses on the body (misconceptions or anything).

Some of these have been around before 1980 but are still working

How do contemporary art auctions work?

I was looking at this website: http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/blogon/art_news/this_weeks_news_round-up/5746

Contemporary art being sold of for over £80,000 each! Who decides which artists are allowed to auction their work off? How is this decided? Why is it being sold for so much?

There is a very good consensus about what art is valuable and what art isn’t. Mainly the reason is that work from that artist previously sold for a high price.

It’s all craziness.
