For Spectrum’s inaugural event, Research Associate Ian Alteveer joined Pablo Bronstein to discuss the work in the exhibition “Pablo Bronstein at the Met,” on view at the Museum from October 6, 2009, through February 21, 2010.
Pablo Bronstein (British, b. 1977) is the sixth artist to participate in an ongoing series of exhibitions at the Met that highlights the work of contemporary artists. “Pablo Bronstein at the Met” presents new, site-specific work that addresses the history and future of The Metropolitan Museum of Art itself. This is the London-based artists first solo exhibition in New York.
Spectrum is a new group organized by The Metropolitan Museum of Art that provides fresh perspectives on the Met’s collections and special exhibitions. Favourite contemporary artists/artworks?
I love contemporary art and would love to see some more. What artists would you recommend/ who are your favourite contemporary artists?
Edvard Munch. He was a bit darker with his symbolist paintings but good.
Magritte for his surrealism.
Alessandro Bavari does fantastic photo manipulation. He works in other mediums as well.
Youtube Cory Arcangel. He’s a video game appropriator. He reprogrammed a video game into "I shot Andy Warhol" game.
Karin Bubas is great for her photography. So is Utah Barth. Laura Letinsky has these crooked food pictures.
i have a 31 year old daughter who can paint the most awesome art?
does any one know of a contact for her to use her art to put onto material for dress making. her art is dinamic and very modern. she painted with oils and accrelics and it can be used as patterns to be printed on any material for dress making or curtains or table cloths or for exclusive wall hangings or for large modern paintings for large business offices.
its good that u care about her, but i think that she is old enough to be left to her own devices. if her art is worthy, believe me buyers will be lining up to ur place soon.
